How to stream iPhone games with OBS on PC or Mac

8 November 2026 · 3 min read

Short answer: mirror your iPhone into Kagami, turn on Share to OBS in Kagami's settings, and add Kagami as a source in your OBS scene. You get a full-quality picture in OBS even when the Kagami window is small or hidden, plus a clean mic and a one-key privacy mode.

Streaming iPhone games on YouTube, Twitch or Kick usually means fighting window capture, a blurry picture and a noisy mic. This guide sets up all three properly on a Windows PC or Mac.

What you need

  • A Windows 10/11 PC (64-bit) or a Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 15 or later.
  • OBS Studio (free).
  • Kagami from the download page.
  • Your iPhone or iPad, on a cable or the same Wi-Fi.

Step 1: get your iPhone into Kagami

  1. Open Kagami.
  2. Plug in the iPhone (tap Trust This Computer) or put it on the same Wi-Fi.
  3. Open Control Centre → Screen Mirroring → Kagami. Nothing is installed on the phone.

For streams, a cable is the steadiest choice: it is not affected by other Wi-Fi traffic in the house. More detail: how to mirror your iPhone to a Windows PC.

Step 2: send Kagami to OBS

  1. In Kagami, open Settings → Streaming and turn on Share to OBS.
  2. In OBS, add the Kagami source to your scene. On a Mac, add a Syphon Client source and choose Kagami.
  3. Pick full screen or 16:9 for your layout.

OBS now gets a full-quality picture, even when the Kagami window is small, behind other windows or hidden.

Prefer Window Capture? Press ⌘K (Mac) for Kagami's clean view, with no buttons on the picture, and capture that window.

Your picture settings in Kagami (colour, brightness, sharpness) go to OBS too, so the stream looks like what you see.

Step 3: fix your mic once

Turn on studio-quality mic clean-up in Kagami:

  • Noise removal (1×–5×) for fans, keyboards, room noise and electric hum.
  • Voice enhancer for a clearer voice; "Depth" adds warmth.
  • Noise gate for silence between your words.
  • Compressor and limiter so viewers aren't blasted when you shout.

No OBS plugins needed. Use Test mic with headphones to hear the result live.

Step 4: keep the stream safe

A bank alert or a private message mid-stream? Press ⌃⌥B for privacy mode. A "Privacy mode" card covers the screen on stream, in OBS, in recordings and in replays at once. Type your password, then press it again to come back. Pop-ups never show on stream, and one switch hides Kagami's Settings from your stream too.

Step 5: record and clip while you stream

  • Record in Kagami at the same time, as MP4 or MOV. Recording is protected every 2 seconds inside the app, so a crash still leaves you one complete file.
  • Instant replay (Zenn): press ⌃⌥S to save the last 15 seconds to 5 minutes, perfect for Shorts and Reels. Works even with OBS or the game in front.

Step 6: show viewers your stats (optional)

Kagami's FPS counter shows frame rate, delay, battery (on a cable) and quality. Show it on stream or only to yourself.

Tips for a smooth stream

  • Use a cable or 5/6 GHz Wi-Fi; avoid a busy 2.4 GHz network.
  • Turn off Low Power Mode, VPNs and the iPhone's own screen recording.
  • Turn on a Focus mode so notifications stay quiet.
  • Watch Kagami's live delay meter; one click on Fix catches up if the picture falls behind.
  • On the Free plan a Kagami watermark shows in OBS (never in your recording files). Zenn removes it.

FAQ

Can I stream iPhone games without a capture card? Yes. Kagami mirrors over a cable or Wi-Fi and hands OBS a full-quality picture, so no capture card is needed. See how Kagami compares with capture cards.

Does it work on Twitch, YouTube and Kick? Yes. Kagami feeds OBS; OBS streams wherever you send it.

Can I stream an iPad? Yes, the steps are the same.

Does the stream show my notifications? Not if you press privacy mode, and a Focus mode on the phone keeps them quiet in the first place.
