How to record iPhone gameplay on PC or Mac (BGMI, Free Fire and more)
Short answer: mirror your iPhone to Kagami on your Windows PC or Mac (cable or Wi-Fi, nothing to install on the phone), choose your audio, and press record. Game sound and your mic stay in sync, and the file is saved on your computer in full quality, ready to edit.
Recording on the phone itself fills your storage, warms the phone up and leaves you moving big files around before you can edit. Recording on the computer avoids all of that. Here is the full setup for BGMI, Free Fire MAX, COD Mobile or any other iPhone game.
What you need
- A Windows 10/11 PC (64-bit) or a Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 15 or later.
- Any iPhone or iPad with Screen Mirroring.
- Kagami from the download page.
- A mic if you want your voice: the computer's built-in mic, a USB mic or an audio interface all work.
Step 1: mirror the game
- Open Kagami on your computer.
- Plug in the iPhone (tap Trust This Computer) or join the same Wi-Fi.
- Open Control Centre → Screen Mirroring → Kagami.
You get your iPhone's own full resolution, up to 120 Hz on ProMotion iPhones (13 Pro and later Pro models), and very low delay, so you can play straight from the monitor. Full steps: how to mirror your iPhone to a Windows PC.
Tip for games: turn on a Focus mode and turn off Low Power Mode before a match, and use a cable for long sessions.
Step 2: choose your audio
In Kagami's recording settings, pick what goes into the file:
- Phone + your mic (most gameplay videos)
- Phone only (silent gameplay, add commentary later)
- Mic only
- No sound
Then pick how the mic is saved:
- Mixed into one video, ready to upload as it is.
- Mic as a separate file, saved next to the video with the same name ending in "- Mic". Best if you edit, because you can fix your voice level without touching the game sound.
Mic volume goes from 0 to 500%. Turn on Test mic (with headphones) to hear yourself while you set it.
Step 3: clean up your mic
Fans, a keyboard and electric hum ruin commentary. Kagami's studio-quality mic clean-up fixes that without plugins:
- Noise removal (1×–5×): start at 1× and go higher only if needed.
- Voice enhancer: a clearer, stream-ready voice.
- Noise gate: total silence between your words.
- Compressor and limiter: even volume, and no distortion when you shout after a clutch.
Step 4: pick quality and file type
- Quality: Best quality, or smaller files.
- File type: MP4 (uploads anywhere) or MOV.
- Portrait games: phone screen only, or inside a 16:9 frame for YouTube.
Kagami shows the file size per minute before you start and warns you if your disk is nearly full.
Step 5: record
Click Record, or use the hotkey (⌘R on Mac; change any shortcut in Settings → Shortcuts). While you play, Kagami protects your recording every 2 seconds inside the app. When you stop, or even if the computer crashes or the power goes out, you get one complete, playable file, never a pile of small clips to stitch together.
If the live window ever skips a frame, the recording is not affected: it is made from the stream itself, so it stays smooth and in sync.
Step 6: save the moments you didn't plan
That last-circle win happened before you pressed record? With instant replay (part of Zenn and Founders 100), Kagami keeps the last 10 minutes ready:
- Press ⌃⌥S to save the length you picked: 15 or 30 seconds, or 1, 2 or 5 minutes.
- Or press ⌃⌥⇧S and type how far back to save, up to 10 minutes.
Both keys work even inside a full-screen game, and replays include game sound and your mic.
Step 7: keep private things private
A message or bank alert pops up mid-match? Press ⌃⌥B for privacy mode. The screen is covered in your recording, replays, OBS and stream at once. Press it again to come back.
Which games work?
Every iPhone game, because Kagami records the mirrored screen: BGMI, Free Fire MAX, COD Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Mobile Legends, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Wild Rift and more.
FAQ
Can I record iPhone gameplay on PC for free? Yes. Kagami Free records with every feature except instant replay, up to 2 minutes per recording, and your files never carry a watermark. Zenn records with no limit.
Does recording on the PC lower my game's FPS? The recording happens on your computer, not the phone, so the phone only does its normal Screen Mirroring work.
Can I stream and record at the same time? Yes. See how to stream iPhone games with OBS.
Where are my recordings saved? In the save folder you choose in Kagami. Open it any time in one click (⇧⌘O on Mac).
